Optional matthew 9: 27-34
M. 9:35-10:22
What if anything, does Jesus' seeing as open and bright fields lost souls to be harvesting apply to you?
Your family will generally reccomend you be prepared. Can you think of other passages that balance faith versus preparedness. How do we gain this kind of faith; in what ways should we imitate this radical'ness in our lives/ preparenedness to others?
M. 10:17-42. (note repetition of verses is deliberate. to keep' hints of context involved.).
M. 10 : either v32 or 34- 11:17 or 19 is our generation unsatisfied with the message of the church/ christians. what ways are good ways to make the gospel more attractive, which aren't? Or what ways is there a contrasting between/ enjoying denying oneself in the gospel today, that are both true. which one do you lean more toward and why?
m. 11:16-30 (this is a smaller one, to change the pacing. let me know how it turns out?)
Jude is a little child. Cecilia is one two. Does that change the way you read these passages, as if you think of them, or if you think of yourself as one of them.
m11. 24-26 following onto 12:21 How does the symbol of God as a smoldering wick. or something fragile as a bruised reed, show an example in Christ's ministry that we should follow. More importantly, how does it show that he understands our weaknesses. How does the fact that he might seem quiet. in the descriptions of this prophecy. encourage or challenge you in september/ right now in the upcoming school year.
mat. 12:15-32 ask whatever questions you would like here.
mat. 32- 37. Pray for Joe and me here, thanks.
mat. 12: 33-45 If we are getting rid of sin; Or struggling with sin in a certain something or area; would this apply to our lives today.
mat. 12 :43-49 Who is your Mother and Father and brothers and sisters? Does this radical teaching of Jesus 'affect you in any way/why or why not.? Note; You can take two or three days on this passage if you want. Phil. 2:1-8? ish is not your normal contrast passage with this part, but may make you look at it in a new light. Take 5, or at least 3 days to break up matthew 13. go through it however you like. Approximately a half chapter of proverbs or less if you want in depth. after chapters 8; and 1-4, especially. a chapter of proverbs a day as well; if you want to go faster through this section instead. Luke 11; contrast especially. God bless Kirk; and good luck.
Bible reading 90 days...just new testament for an easier version. http://www.biblegateway.com/resources/readingplans/index.php/2009/08/07?plan=6&version=31 is the first day . matt. I'd reccomend possibly doing a little bit extra; since otherwise it'll make the rest of the week feel harder. or of course starting at the beginning. Even if you don't get all the way through. I'm sure it would help grow a lot. probably work better one on one. than group .. as is longer.. great for a summer plan; when lots of friends gone, schools out. http://www.biblegateway.com/resources/readingplans/index.php/2009/06/?plan=6&version=31 one extra days worth for the first 3+ days; would, even if behind help get on track well. Bible verse. memorization. Psalm 1, 119. Proverbs 1-4. (why I wanted to add it in with this matthew section. followed by going back and hitting sermon the mount... gives a different feel for it.Or lukes 6, 11, multiple versions of the same. ) God bless all that good stuff.
